How do you know when it’s too much?

Just a quick random one tonight…

How do you know when you are following too many fitness/body building accounts on Instagram?

When you have a dream where you look at yourself in the mirror and suddenly you’re flexing and you’ve got all these muscles you thought you never had!  And when you wake up…you realise you’re not quite there yet!  Actually you realise that you will probably never be there – because you looked like a man!!!!

Was my dream a prediction of the future?  Or was it simply the fact I’d looked one too many buff bodies on instagram before I fell asleep last night.

Whatever it was, it made me laugh when I randomly remembered it half way through the afternoon.

Who knows. if my subconscious mind thinks I already look like that maybe my body will follow 😉

Sunday Shout Out – Week 8!

Today’s shout out is a special one, as I have a transformation to share with you all!  This weeks shout out goes to a man I have been following on instagram for the last few months.  I read his story and was very moved.  I started following him and I believe he is one of the most down to earth, real and inspirational people on instagram.  He is always supportive of others on their journeys and he has a sense of humour which is contagious.  If you have instagram I highly recommend checking out his page:  @biggieodonnell

Here is his story:

My Journey began 15 months ago… A severely obese close friend of mine (450 Lbs.) suffered a brain aneurysm. At the time I weighed 475 pounds trying to get into a bathroom big enough for a small person. His dead weight was almost impossible to stand him up. With the quick response of myself and paramedics he’s alive today. This happened on a Sunday. When I got home from the hospital I broke down in tears realizing that could of been me and no person small or big could handle such large weight and save my life. I didn’t sleep that night. At 430 am I went for a walk around the block. Winded and wanting to quit I made myself a promise not to give up. In 15 months I’ve lost 225 pounds due to healthy eating and basic heavy training with 90 minutes of daily cardio. My journey will never be done as I know my life has changed for the better and eager to help those who stand at the starting line I once stood at.

Motivation…

Very quick one tonight.

Last night was Outdoor Fitness Class (aka. boot camp) and man was it tough!  We got killed! pushed!!  But it was an awesome feeling of achievement afterwards!  It’s interesting to see just how many people have dropped off since the first week.  Anyhow, afterwards I posted a pic on instagram of myself after bootcamp/grocery shopping looking completely wrecked!  Funnily enough I had 3 random “likes” and all 3 of them were fitness/health related companies.

One of them is a clothing company – Iron Couture – which has some work out gear with some kick ass slogans on it.  It got me thinking, that when I get through the 12 Week Challenge and have hit my goal weight I am going to reward myself with some awesome work out gear.  Then and only then!  In the mean time I’ll keep working out in my current gear (comfy and fairly boring with the odd flash of colour).

I am also planning on treating myself to a night in a hotel room in the city and have it booked in and ready.  It will be cancelled if I do not reach my target.  But that won’t be happening!!

It’s exciting and motivating having these rewards in place.
