from eighty four to now…

The Plan 2.0

Change – it is essential..without it we grow stale and are unable to challenge ourselves and learn.  Nothing is set in stone, and although we make plans – these too can change.  As we change as people, so do our goals and what we want to achieve in life.

2012 was a year that taught me many things, the main being that I was not happy where I was and that it was time for a change.  After much thinking and “maybe I should do this”, I made the decision of a career change.  Finally I had a plan….

The plan was a bit of a long-term one, but with the plan I had something to focus on…no longer did I feel like my life had no purpose or direction.  In hindsight, the decision was the best decision I could have made – as well as a career change I moved back to my home town of Canberra – where I had once said I would never live again.  I had been living in Sydney for 6 years and although it was the right place for me to be for many of those years it had become toxic and emotionally it was doing me more harm than good.

The Plan has been altered due to the move back to Canberra so please see below the new and improved plan – version 2.0

June 2013 – Move back to Canberra and start in new role (similar job with another division in the same company).   Main goals in Canberra: Get finances and health/fitness back on track – both physical and emotional.

October 2013 – Spent a lot of money with a few birthdays and my sister’s wedding – so between October and December need to get saving back under control.  Due to a few stresses of late planning a trip away to get my emotional health back on track and also looking into changing psychologist as cost is too high and don’t feel I am getting as much out of him.

January – August 2014 – Continue to work in current role and saving as much money as possible. Start looking into Uni course.

August – October/November 2014 – TRAVEL – America/Canada/Europe and a bit of Asia.  Possibly some Africa where I would like to do some volunteer work (possibly giving me experience to assist with my studies).

2015 – Begin my studies in a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics.  Originally I planned to move to another city at this point – however it is looking far more likely I will stay in Canberra.  Hoping to continue working part-time with my current employer during my studies (at least for the first 12 months or so – I may then look at picking up some part-time work in my new field).

 

2018/2019 – This is when I would graduate if all goes to plan.  I am unsure exactly what I want to do in Nutrition/Dietetics.  The more I am getting into my fitness the more I think I may end up in that direction…but who knows!  Either way….
