Progression of me

from eighty four to now…

Sydney, Sailing and Sunburn

on January 15, 2014

Australia is currently going through a heatwave.  You know it’s hot when the radio station DJ’s are warning you to keep drinking plenty of water and to go shopping centres or movie theatres if your house doesn’t have air conditioning!!

Although it is up in the low 40’s (around 107ish for those of you who may not use the metric system) it has been cooler down the coast so yesterday my best friend and I spent the day at the beach.  It was lovely – we had some good quality girl time, chatting and laughing mixed with time in the sun and surf 🙂

I think this sums up the Australian beach scene quite nicely. Without a cloud in the sky it was the perfect beach day 🙂

On the weekend that just passed I had a work awards night which was in Sydney, I used the opportunity to stay an extra night (since I’m on leave for the week) and spent Sunday sailing on Port Jackson with my friend and some family friend’s of hers.  It was such a good day!  We were lucky the weather was sunny but there was some cloud coverage so it wasn’t too full on.  I did manage to get quite badly burnt on my back though – but what is summer without some sunburn?!  I tried my first Gin and Tonic – which was the perfect beverage for such an occasion – and there was plenty of yummy food.

Here is a picture of the boat.  I took it at the end of the day, when the clouds had really come over.

Other than the water, I have had a busy few days with a few appointments etc.  I also succeeded in a new PB at my training session this morning – 70kg squat.  Stoked as my last PB on barbell squats was 60kg.  Today was legs day and I really enjoyed it.  Tomorrow will be upper body.  I need to increase my sessions again as I have just entered the 12 Week Transformation Challenge.  The original challenge I planned to enter was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of interest so I looked around and found this one instead:

Bodybuilding.com – $100,000 Transformation Challenge

I had to upload my photos, measurements and write a blog entry on the site this week so I got it all done today and so I believe I should be all good to go.  I’m really excited to see the changes over the next 3 months – particularly as when I was taking my photos today I noticed some good changes over the last 2 months!  Hopefully by the end of the challenge I will reach my goals and if that is the case I will post a before and after photo 🙂

If anyone is interested in following my progress on the Bodybuilding.com site let me know.

Well that’s about it for now…I really need to finalise my list of books tomorrow so it’s good to go when I turn 30 😉
